I thought I'd head down to the Solomons and check out said battle, however after parking myself bang in the middle of the battle location - no one showed! Allthough I did get a big long battle report over the radio...bit dissapointed. Anyone else had any better luck?

Yeah - well I thought i wander into Honiara for a look see weeks after a radio message declaring victory for the USA - only to find some very unfriendly company...
I wouldn't sweat that aspect of it though - make your own history out of it! |

There was no Honaria during the war.
By 1943 the Sea Bees had a prefab pier someplace near Lunga I think. About wide enough for a jeep. I got rid of it, it pissed me off to see it. As for the battles, very few are in game. PH, Coral Sea, Midway, a single Gudalcanal naval engagement, 2 at Philipines, one at Truk... Maybe 1 or 2 more. None are accurate, either. (by accurate I mean that none bother to put the right ships in the right groups, even when they have virtually all the ships available as models in game. They'll used 12 Akazuki DDs at a time where the IJN had ONE Akizuki DD when the real force should be 12 Fubukis (which they have!). Those DDs might escort 2xIse BB, when the real force was 2xKongo, etc. No attention to detail. tater |
