Running submerged, I noticed it uses that batteries as propulsion. Can we switch to diesel power while submerged? And if we could say how?

ONLY Dutch "onderzeeboten" (O-19 and O-21 classes) and German "U-Boote" have the privilge of running on diesels at periscope depth. The Dutch only until some date in 1940, when the British Admiralty ORDERED the installation removed from all subs so equipped (not understanding the value of the device and considering it too dangerous- I would have told them to "Get stuffed, it's staying!!!), the Germans after 1943, when they copied the ""snuiver" (snorkel) from us.
