Default Thermal Layers w/o SH3 Commander?

Does anyone know of any mods that add thermal layers to SH3/GWX without using SH3 Commander (or if Hemisent's mod has a none-SH3 CDR flavor)?

The reason Thermal Layers are used in conjuction with SH3Cmdr is because it's the only program available for SH3 that can randomise them.

Now, you could introduce the same settings into a JSGME ready package BUT the layers will not be random. Meaning that, you will always have a thermal layer @ 180m (for example).

Now the due to the way SH3 sensors work, this means, hit that depth and you're nearly 100% safe. It's a bit of an immersion killer.

Exactly, Commander randomises everything, not only the percentage of a thermal layer existing at all but at what depth it occurs at. Also thermal layer depth is different based on what year technology sensor is being used on the AI that's looking for you.

Also, be advised that the TL mod is virtually disabled in the NYGM mod.

Appreciate the feedback. I guess I need to figure out how to install SH3 CDR on top of my GWX and start a new career. I think thermal layers are important enough to retire my current kaleun despite his tonnage over the last 5 patrols.

There is no need to start a new career.

Just make sure there are no enabled mods in JSGME, then install SH3 Cmdr, then re-enable your mods and run Sh3 Cmdr.

Do all of this while docked & in port at your home base.
