For whom the bell tolls

Anyone ever experience their dive alarm not shutting off ? Couldn't get to the wires to cut the circuit. What do you do ?
I'm running GWX all the way, with SH3Commander, and SH3Gen. Is this a probable sabotage nugget ?
After sinking three large freighters from periscope depth in pitch black darkness and a blinding rain storm, we had to race to the safety of the deep, in the middle of two criss crossing convoys in the western approaches. Either the system was overloaded, or the periscope was struck by lightning causing the short circuit. I was afraid to Save and reload 'cause I've lost the sim that way before.
Two hours of depth charging from three escorts, releasing Bold, and sprint then drift, all while that alarm bell was clamoring. My ears are still ringing. If it is a sabotage, what's the fix ? Please.
And with all that noise, we got away at slow speed, 224 meters down. Unscathed.
Amazing.

think it is a glitch... i have had that happen to me before a couple of times.

On one occasion the only way to fix it was to end the mission.

on the other occasion i surfaced and ordered another crash dive and the alarm bell sounded for the correct duration.

Never experienced this myself but it sounds like the file got caught in a loop
Try taking it out and rebooting your machine then reinstalling it again

I think it's some sort of sound loop problem (as jimbuna said before).
This problem comes with stock SH3 and happened to me several times.

Most of the time it occured when I was submerged, then surfacing again and heard those ambient underwater sounds though I was on surface with diesels on!

Solution: Save game and exit SH3, optionally reboot system and then load your old savegame. It worked for me, but it's an annoying bug from stock SH3.

By the way, I think it has nothing to do with with too much traffic going on. It happened to me occasionally, even when there was no ship around!

Happy hunting!

Default sound file loops

I've noticed the engine sounds frequently do not play correctly when moving between various stations on the boat. Going to the hydrophone and back by pressing H twice usually works for me to reset the sounds you should be hearing.
