CTD's or Corrupted Save files?

Have had a recent problem with CTD on loading a game. I noticed yesterday one of my save files would load, render the scene (the 'please wait' portion after load).... then bang CTD. I resolved by going to an earlier save that seemed to work fine, even when saving over the previously 'bad' save' then loading that save to be sure the problem was gone. Then today, I find two of my most recent saves do the same thing.

I thought I may avoid the problem by deleting the offending saves, but the naming system is a lil beyond me in the save section.

My question is, is anyone else having corrupted saves?

Or, Does anyone know of a specific bug that results in said saves, so I may avoid this issue in future?

There have been similar posts to this regarding SH3 and SH4. I always save at the map station, either on the surface or submerged, and I have yet to experience a problem in either game.

Im not totally sure, but I get the feeling I saved the game in the Periscope HUD. Be interesting to see if anyone else got this bug while knowing where they were when saving. Thought I saw some posts earlier about this subject, but no one had nailed it down to where it happens. Map room saves it is
