Default Difficult

But then I am playing on hard level with the game modded to TMaru and those destroyers are leathel if you are careless or indifferent to them. You have to be constantly aware where they are at ALL times in attack or setting yourself up for attack. At vanilla, the destroyers are nothing more than a distraction and easily brushed aside - no skill in that.

That is one of the great features of SHIV.You can make it as difficult or as easy as you like in the options.I prefer the Trigger Maru mod...Thanks again Ducimus..but i prefer to have manual torpedos off.Real boat is a great mod, made by Beery, and we all owe him a big thank you for his efforts. So my friend as you can see SHIV is what you make of it,the choices are yours.Good hunting!

Just like vanilla SH3 after a short time to master it and the challenge has gone unlike SH3/GWX which is more realistic and harder. Well may be in a year or two the mod guys will bring out a super mod to beef up SH4 just like they have done with SH3.

I find it varies, but it can't be that hard because I have had 8 patrols in my current career and have a total of over 300000 tonnes of shipping sunk!! I can't quite get that Medal of Valour though.....

Once you get the radars you can avoid all potentially dangerous situations.

Agreed, once it started working in '43 I've avoided some nastiness, though I really don't know why it picks up fishing boats, they're made of wood!!!

Just remember not to vote ''very easy'' if you play in easy level and you only have 0% realism.

I'm on realistic everything except manual TDC, which alone makes it easy I suppose.

Default Easy

I think it is easy.
That's why I wait for v1.3 , because it needs more challenge.
The aircrafts for ex. is too easy to be shot down

Just set out for full realism two days ago.

Got home from my first mission with "only" 40.000 tonnes of sunk shipment. My only problem is getting the speeds of ships correct, so most tonnage is gained using the deck gun, what I find kinda cheating, especially since you can use the gun in all kind of weather, whereass SHIII only permitted use when the crew didn't get washed of the deck.

But not hard, and not easy using full realism.
