Photo Colors

What do the different colors of the crew pictures mean? Just got in a bad fire fight and some are color, some are black and white, some are red and some are tan or sepia. Thanks very much in advanced.

PS: My first post to this great board. I have been lurking since the game came out and I got it.

Check their health on the crewboard, sounds like you have a lot of dead and wounded. You may have to abort your patrol and return to base.
