Default Idiocracy - Is there anything to it?

Has anyone here seen Idiocracy? It is a comedy that seems to have snuck in under the radar. Not everyone will like it. It has an interesting theory though. Today the world is safer than ever, just look at all the laws there are just to protect people. Seat belts, child proof locks, air bags, all kinds of stuff. Just imagine how "dangerous" even the 60s were compared to today.

Now think about this, doesn't it generally seem that the smart and successful people generally have very few kids? Do you ever notice those crazy trailer trash people on daytime talk shows have 50 kids? Those 50 kids then have 150 crazy dysfunctional trailer trash kids and so on.

So, everything is so safe which takes out the theory of natural selection and many of the idiots from killing themselves off. Not all of course, some do manage to slip through the cracks but then someone is sued and then it never happens again.

So the movie takes place a few hundred or maybe even a 1000 years in the future, I don't remember. Everyone by then has devolved and is quite stupid. The common language has been turned into a mix of slang and redneck. The cities are crumbling because people are too stupid.

Funny huh?

Watch the intro to the movie!:rotfl:

If you liked that then watch this scene from the movie:
