Default Lifeboats And Ship Smoke

Just a couple of quirks (mabey) that I was wondering about. I see screenies of sinking ships with lifeboats deployed. I have yet to see a lifeboat when I sink a ship. All I get is the usual debris floating on the surface. Do all ship types deploy lifeboats upon sinking?

Another thing I noticed is that sometimes the smoke from the ship's stacks is not visable. Other times it depends on the angle or light condition to be able to see it. From what I noticed at least, the stack smoke is not as voluminous as it is in SH3. I do have smoke from fire and explosions, so I thought the stack smoke thing was kinda wierd. Any ideas, or advice? Thanks.

I've got the same thing. Hopefully someone can mod it.

Yes, the same here. No smoke from ships.

The "Particle Density" is under the Graphics options. It is one of the "sliders".
My PD is at about 80%. I could see if it were a low setting, but not more then 3/4. It's wierd, because sometimes I do see it.

I'm running an X1650pro, with the 7.3's. Could this be an ATI issue? Anyone having the same issues, and useing Nvidea?

Any ideas about the second part of my question about the lifeboats?

Diamond Stealth ATI x1550 Pro, drivers are the 6.12 version, and I have light whispy smoke from the stacks, or none at all. Particle density is set to max.

Running at original resolution, everything on except fog, highest detail.
Lots of mods. As far as graphics\textures, few skins, cloud mod, night visibility mod.
