Right then, what the heck is going on here
Right there I was in one of my let's have a snoop around moods so I set sail for this place NE of Scotland outside the grid zone, I never seen so many patrol ships as this place had. And here's the worst part of it they were all Norwegian
![]() ![]() I they renegades? :hmm: Anyway as I pushed on more and more of them popped up at one point there was 19 of these ships. ![]() What the hell are they protecting in there are ask? ![]() ![]()

probably exiled norwegian patrol craft - the norway's government in exile used what was left of its forces to resist germany until ww2 ended. (As per GWX manual)

I must go back in a IX boat and a belly full of type IV's and V's what a field day I would have.

Longyearby is a nasty place. Went up there late March 1940 killing time for the Narvik action. Sailed right in cos Norway was neutral and sussed the place out. There was a small passenger liner or troop ship and a tanker i think or possibly a large merchant. Seemed like a possible fall back so I decided to do Narvik and return. Sorry I ever did. I think it was the longest patrol ever. Ran in submerged with loads of warship contacts everywhere. Sank one of the biggies but the escorts were all over the place. Grey sunken ship logos everywhere! They were running into piers and grounding themselves everywhere but there were still s***loads of them. Nothing bigger than a frigate and tons of trawlers and elco boats. Just enough to make you keep your head down. The crew were blue in the face by the time I got out. 2 whole evenings for 10000 tons. Not worth it
