need help, problem since 1.2

okay just installed 1.2 and launched the game, started a new carreer.

my crew will not sleep for more than a moment at a time.
by the end of day one theyre fatigue is about 16/100, by morning its 4/100.
its not possible to even go to periscope depth, battlestations is definatly turned off.
they do occaisionally sleep although it does them no good at all.
now my campaign is unplayable, my men cannot obey a simple order like shooting at a plane, or diving the sub once a day or so has passed.
i cannot make them sleep and even sitting in the sea with the engines disabled has no effect.

has anyone else encountered this error ?
i cant find anything in the readme to explain this.
i dont know if its a bug, or a problem with my install.

the only mod im using effects only crash depth, and the power of depth charges to make them more realistic.

this should effect my crew should it ?

any ideas what i should try now ?
