Default GWX, 7 patrols already and still only 1940!

It seems its taking forever to get into the war, I went on 7 patrols already and still only nov. 1940..

I have the commander program, whats a realistic setting for time at base? it seems at the rate I am going I will have 200 patrols by the end of war, lol.

THANKS

Well realistically speaking the best Aces of the war didn't even survive 41. Those that did well usually didn't last longer than 8 or so patrols after that since they'd be promoted. Either way, realistically speaking, you shouldn't be Kaleun by the end of the war.

Also if you have been sailing since Sept of 39 then 7 sounds like a good number of patrols. Thats around 2 months for 1 patrol and rest period. It also depends on the boat type. In a II you won't have long patrols.

Also if you're impatient for the later war then just start a new career in 41 or 43 or something and "retire" this one.

I save my games and if I die I reload So I plan on making it to the end of the war.
I actually was off on my numbers , I have now just finished my 10th patrol, started in a VII

Ah well then have a good time. And if you want to go the whole war then remember to not click "realistic career length" in SH3 Commander.

You could always change the time you remain at base to a larger number. Say 90 days or whatever. 4 or 5 patrols a year should get you through pretty quickly. It's in one of the ini files, but I can't remember which just now. If you have SH3 Commander, you can change it easily there.
