many times its just off screen and you can see the edge of it somewhere
if you cant see it try randomely grabbing at the edges of the screen and see if you can "catch" it usually on the left side of the screen, i dont think tmo put it in a different place so it should be there if all else fails you can open options screen and try a different screen resolution and see if that lets you see it |

I'm running TMO both 1.63 and 1.8 on a 24" wide screen and it comes up on the upper right corner, about 1/5 of it is visible.

The easiest way to do this is to make a JSGME mod with the 1024 file and keep changing this; that way you can't do any harm to your setup, and you don't have to make a backup.

to be honest i never understood why they named it that way, there are no other menu.ini files so why not just name it "menu" and leave off that silly 1024_768 open the menu1024_768.ini file with windows notepad and its a very big file, too big to read through without your eyes glazing over so at the top toolbar of windows notepad click on "edit" then "find" and a search tool will pop up to find things in the file so just type in what your looking for below i am posting the stock settings for G29 I1 and the chrono so you can compare them to what you have [G29 I1] Name=Page Clock Type=1027;Menu page ItemID=0x29000000 ParentID=0x0 Pos=0,0,1024,768 Zone= 0 768 1024 768 2 1 0x0 0.5 -0.5 0x29000000 -0.5 0.5 0 0 LoadingMode=1 [G29 I2] Name=Chrono Type=1026;Menu group ItemID=0x29020000 ParentID=0x29000000 Pos=-31,0,312,300 Zone= -31 768 312 300 0 1 0x29000000 0 0 0x29020000 -0.1 0 0 0 Color=0xFFFFFFFF Last edited by Webster; 11-17-09 at 11:26 AM. |

Webster, thanks for the additional info. I was in a hurry and was too abrupt and inexact.
To find the 1024 file, go to C:/Install folder/SilentHunter4/data/menu/menu_1024_768.ini Copy that file to your desktop and do all the changes to that file. Be sure the file your alter is the active one in your install, as many mods will overwrite this file. If so, use the last one activated. If you use JSGME (as you should) it will be the file in the SH4/data/menu folder. See: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...ight=menu_1024 for a discussion on how the file works re positioning an item. See also: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...ight=menu_1024 on how to mess with the file. There are many more threads dealing with this subject. If you want additional info. do a search for the file. In general the upper left corner is 0.0 and positions are given as 4 coordinates. As Webster pointed out, there are two files that deal with clocks G29 I1 and G29 I2; I am not sure what one you need to mess with to find your stopwatch. After you have made some changes, place your trial file in a JSGME file structure: Trial Clock Mod/data/menu/your changed menu_1024_768.ini file drop that in the game mod folder and activate via JSGME. Start the game and go to the navigation mission in the school, hit "X" and see where your clock is. If you can't find it, or don't like where it is, exit the game and deactivate the mod. Go to the mod folder and remove the mod to the desktop and try again. When you have the stopwatch where you want it, you have become a modeler. ![]() If this seems like a lot of work, it is. ![]() ![]()

as far as the game is concerned the chrono is what the game calls the stopwatch. i would think that thats the entry to edit.
uninstall all of your mods befor doing anything then open C:/Install folder/SilentHunter4/MODS (this is the jsgme folder where all mods are kept) and inside the mods folder you will find the TMO mod folder and it has the same file structure as the game so open TMO/data/menu/menu_1024_768.ini then make your changes to the TMO copy of the menu_1024_768.ini otherwise you will corrupt your mods and the game never mod any files with mods still installed in your game TMO makes changes to this entry and all your trying to do is remove the changes made to the chrono so the TMO version should read just as the info i gave you above. you can even copy and paste it into the TMO menu_1024_768.ini file if you want but make surethe highlighted areas are the same i went ahead and checked the TMO menu file and it is the chrono entry and you need to change the "zone=" line the TMO mod has this for the chrono: [G29 I2] Name=Chrono Type=1026;Menu group ItemID=0x29020000 ParentID=0x29000000 Pos=412,0,312,300 Zone= 412 768 234 225 0 1 0x29000000 1.23 0 0x29020000 -1 0 -300 0 Color=0xFFFFFFFF so change this line: Zone= 412 768 234 225 0 1 0x29000000 1.23 0 0x29020000 -1 0 -300 0 to be replaced by this line from the stock file: Zone= -31 768 312 300 0 1 0x29000000 0 0 0x29020000 -0.1 0 0 0 the spaces and plus or minus signs matter so the safest way is to avoid mistakes or a typo is to just copy the entire section below and paste it in to replace the TMO settings (this is the stock version settings) [G29 I2] Name=Chrono Type=1026;Menu group ItemID=0x29020000 ParentID=0x29000000 Pos=-31,0,312,300 Zone= -31 768 312 300 0 1 0x29000000 0 0 0x29020000 -0.1 0 0 0 Color=0xFFFFFFFF that should have you all fixed up and you save your changes to the file and then close it and reinstall the mod and go have fun playing the game. Thanks Irish and Webster on the tip on relocating the chrono, hate moving it every time I start the game.
![]() Webster I should have been more clear, I'm running two installs, one with 1.63 and one with 1.8. By the by, love your mods, they fix a lot of things that I really find annoying. ![]() Magic

Hello Webster
As you can see it’s been a long time that I’ve been here. Suddenly I decide to go back to one (IMO) of the game. SH series. Just want to say thank you very much for your help. I have followed all your advice and everything is working properly. I have SH4 patched to 1.5 (U-boat mission) witch TMO 2.0 with some other minor MOD, and combining those two posts I had resole all my problem playing 2560 x 1600. I have my chrono ( x : key) conversion chart and gramophone music http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...light=keyboard http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=122021 Littelmaster |
