Default Boat Speed

has anyone delved into making a speed-boat out of these news ships?
In SH3, I was enjoying running at surface speeds of 80+ knots.
Was awesome.

In this edition, I have not been able to find the engine upgrades.
I did it in SH3 by boosting the numbers of the Supercharger upgrades.
From 1.3 to 5.0 or there abouts.

Default Boat Speed

This is just for fun...

I've got a Tambor doing 54 knts

Grab Nvdrifters' tweak files and a copy of (travellers's mini tweak program)
edit the .sim (speeds by propulsion) and .zon (Hitpoints and depths) files to taste.

Watch-out for Anti-fantasy threads in 5..4..3..2..1

On the upper right, click for the path and point to your sh4 root folder, then open/edit the tweak.txt files. it will save them on closure.

make backups first

Hi Cap'n,

You may want to take a peek at the latter half of this thread:
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=110187

There are purists here, but there's the occasional excursion from the beaten path too.

Fortunately, there is room for both the purist and for those who think outside the box.

Without those who think outside the box, submarines would never have been.
Can you imagine the reaction that Holland got when he said, "Let's build a boat that sinks."

I can only get most subs to do 19 knots at flank on surface at the regular game. Is this normal?

Default Need for speed?

This thread is a good start:
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=111716

and yes, re: normal surface speed.

Try this (tested on Tambor class): [you will need CapnCox's tweak files]
NSS-Tambor_sim.txt
NSS-Tambor_sim.txt

[NSS-Tambor_sim.txt]
Set Propulsion Diesel:
Max Speed: 55
Eng_power= 16500
eng_rpm = 25000
knotsSufaced = 50

That should be enough to get a barefoot skiier-up!

have fun

Can the submarines go any faster than 19knots somehow?
