SH4 Unofficial Wiki
A few mod developers got together and decided to start an Unoffical Wiki for Silent Hunter 4.
Visit us at: http://sh4wiki.com Right now things are pretty simple, but we hope we can do a lot to help the SH4 community by giving everyone a quick and easy place to reference the current versions of mods and tweaks. This should make it easier for everyone to keep their game running with the best and latest mods available. If anyone has any additional suggestions or wishes to contribute in other ways, don't hesitate to let us know About This wiki is intended to supplement the forums at subsim.com. We have long wished for a more permanent reference for the many tips, mods, videos, and other info about Silent Hunter 3 (and now Silent Hunter 4). We believe a wiki can provide a better method for storing and retrieving this information than a forum can. Finally, we hope the mod designers, video creators, and others will use this site as a more permanent home for their creations. Hosting You may upload images and documents directly to the wiki (up to 7M). We are more than happy to host your mod, video, etc as well. Simply send an email to uploads AT sh4wiki.com and we will post it and provide you a link so you can create some documentation here on the wiki. If you have any other questions, feel free to contact us at webmaster AT sh4wiki.com. |

I´ve tried it, and I don´t like the Wiki software you used at all. You should use MediaWiki:
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/MediaWiki Check out the SH3 Community Manual: http://www.communitymanuals.com/shii...itle=Main_Page |

We tried MediaWiki to start with but had performance issues. It was more important to us that the site performed well and allowed us to dedicate as much storage and bandwidth as possible to helping host files for mods, tutorials, etc for people who didn't have any other place to host them.

Just an idea but maybe we could put additional pages for American subs & ships as well as japanese ship descriptions, pictures etc.

I have moved over to using MediaWiki and the site is working pretty well. Uploads for images, docs, etc are enable, and I can manually upload any large files for big mods, etc.
I also added an Encyclopedia section for adding images & data on ships in the game. |
