Default Anyway to pick up your sailors after supply drop?

I notice that after your sailors drop off the supplies, they will try to make their way back to your boat. However, upon reaching it, they just keep banging into it. I cant figure out how to pick them up. The "Resccue Pilot" command doesnt seem to work.

Is this bugged, or am I missing something (i.e. undocumented keyboard shortcut.)?

Cheers

I did a resupply to the PI from Cavite, started the offload and waited and waited (raft stayed near shore).
Checked the commander's clipboard and it said mission complete. Continued mission with no problems.

Yours, Mike

Odd that mine keeps coming back to my boat. My clipboard showed mission complete, but I felt more than a little guilty when I backed my boat away, and left my two guys sitting there.

It didnt affect my total crew count, so Im not worried there.

Just curious is all.

THanks for the reply.

I just stayed until the banging stopped. I assumed they were aboard and left. I checked my crew list and they were all there so I moved on.

Is there a button for bringing crew back aboard or for picking up Japanese survivors in life boats?

I wonder if you look close, you might notice that it actually does not take any crew from your ship. Its just scripted to end and thats it.

I think it should be scripted so that once the raft reaches the waypoint at shore it disappears.

Maybe the modders will eventually do this.

I think it would be better to mod waiting for return and also only so many tons per trip. This would make you nose in really close and be nervous for a few hours while offloading supplies. Imagine a subchaser or gun boat catching you in the shallows.

Good point. It wasn't very good for the immersion, when you can haul 23 tons of supplies with one dinghie in one trip. Plus, you leave those two winners behind ( who mysteriously appears from somewhere and then stays to paddle eternity back and worth. I had a priceless moment, when I chased those two b'strds around this bay yanking the engine telegraph like a basket case. Waiting enemy air attack any moment.

Its a good idea, the supply mission tho.

Well, this was my very first mission when I started my career. I got to the spot alright, they jumped into thier inflatible and paddled away. The seas wern't very high, but everytime I did this mission, they would get to shore and head back to the sub, run up against it and the capsize themselves. Then they would happily paddle along, upside down towards the Sulu sea.

It did say mission complete, but it was a bit of a letdown.
