Default Escorts sunk after following me?

Hi everyone. I'm new to SH3/gwx and this forum but not to subsims in general, loved to play aces of the deep back in the days.

On my last patrol I attacked a convoy near the british coast. Since the water was shallow there (I could only dive at 20 meters) the escorts tracked me easily. Still for some reason they didn't find my exact position and dropped their charges pretty randomly and not precise. They drove above me for several hours without hitting me till there was only one trawler searching for me left. When he stopped the search and turned away suddenly there appeared one of those signs for a sunken ship right where the last hydro-contact was. I surfaced - and it was gone. I checked its last position in external view but couldn't find a wreck though. I went after the convoy and got pushed away by a destroyer this time - and it happened again!

Anyone got an idea what happened to those ships?

Welcome

If them escorts are dumb enough to be dropping depth charges into 20m of water I'd say they may have sank one of their own

Another thing I found out was that if you get detected while raiding a harbour go near the walls...the DD's sometimes ram into the walls repeatedly and sink themselves lol did this to two escorts that found me in hartlepool (sp?)

During WWII, just off the US coast (Torpedo Junction), several converted vessels almost had their sterns blown off since they set the depth charges shallow & were too slow to get away quickly..

Nice tip about the walls.. Thanks!!
