I've noticed this a few times and it made me both laugh and scratch my head in confusion. I might be submerged cruising at silent mode near a ship, say a fishing boat, and when I move towards or under it they sound the collision alarm. LOL Now, they have no active or passive sonar and there's now way they know I'm there... unless Ubi wanted to add a Godzilla mod where we could drag them under by snagging the fishing nets. But this happens with ALL ships. Even Destroyers who may be hunting you. For example, I approached a convoy and managed to get right near a DD which I was moving towards ..... and they sounded collision again. But took no other action. So there are two things here. First, collision is not an "intelligent" reaction. It must just be scripted. But second, the AI does not appear to take any action based upon that audible alert. I have seen in convoys where they will speed up or slow down to avoid cracking into one another, but it seems that scripting is unrelated to the presence of the collision alert. Just something interesting.
