Default Unlimited fuel ...

I can't seem to set any "custom" realism settings. Specifically, I'd like to play with "limited fuel," but the game keeps kicking me back down to unlimited fuel.

PH to Honshu at flank! And back!!

In order to get custom options, before starting a patrol, while in the captain´s office, look for a book on the shelf and change your options there...changing them in the main game menu doesn´t affect the carreer.

and if I've started a patrol without doing this, I can't change it at all? Or can I change it once back in my home port?

thx

The only thing that seems to work is to apply the settings just prior to embarking on patrol. When you are in the office, click on the bookshelf to the left of the desk. There is a book there which will bring up the options once again. If you set them there, they will stick for the patrol. There are several posts about it, and it is a known problem which I am sure they are attempting to address.

Cool, thanks. I'll give that a try. And try to remember to do it each patrol...

After I did it on the first patrol it seemed to stick. I checked the first few times, but it seems to work.

I'm not positive, but I don't think you have to do it each patrol. I think the settings you make at the beginning of a patrol (at least in career mode) carry over to the next, or it should in any event. I still haven't finished my first patrol, so I don't know if it will work properly yet.

Settings selected in the base office 'stick' with you from then onwards, until you decide to change them.
