Hey guys I'm new here and I've been reading the forums for a few days now and I decided to join up as I'm realling enjoying the game and this site has helped me a lot.
The 2 main problems I am having at the moment though.

Are you adjusting the depth levels of the torpedos on TDC? If you are, then I would quit trying to do that. I don't even touch that button. If you're playing early war (pre-43), you shouldn't change depths on torps from what I understand. I guess because IRL they were all shallow torps at the time but that is superfluous to your situation so just ignore me.
Anyway, I've been playing SH4 since release and have NEVER had a torpedo go under a boat. Not even once. I've had plenty of duds but no depth problems. Good luck finding your solution. |

I've noticed if I'm playing with the metric system, nearly every shot will go too low, even if I set the depth exactly at the ship's draft. On imperial I can set the depth dial about three feet deeper than the target's draft and get a perfect magnetic detonation every time. I've had quite a few one shot kills, actually breaking a ship in half. One time I sunk a cruiser with one shot like this. And I'm not using any "torpedo mods" either.

Maybe I could recreate it and fraps it. Although thats only if noone at all knows.
Also I only tried adjusting the tdc when they went under with no results. Before they hit it looks like the current is dragging them under. |

I guess I'll switch on imperial and see what happens. Although I'd prefer metric, being an aussie and all.
P.s majority of them look to be at the right depth they just go down ;/ |

![]() Also are you using any nodvd cracks (not an accusation-flame suit not required ![]() I also use metric as do alot of others without a problem. Hope this helps.

What is strange is the game was based on metric from what I see. Anyway, I do not touch the depth gauge on the TDC. I was also wondering if you are to far out and the torpedo propulsion system is running out of juice.

I'm wondering if it is an artifact of the dud torpedo simulation. I use Imperial and mostly play in the early war period. I often followed the computer track on the attack navagatin map when I was learning to play the game. Virtually every time I have set a depth equal to or greater than the keel, with a magnetic setting, the torpedo can be seen emerging from the far side of the target and continuing merrily on its way.
I only use contact fuses now and generally set the depth at least 5 feet above the keel. In rough weather I use the default depth setting. |
