I was tracking a convoy and in very bad postion for attack. I attempted anyway. I was detected as I was full boar towards the ships at periscope depth. I broke off the attack and surfaced when safe. I sent a contact message. I receivee a message that said good job we will send other assest to handle please return to port at your descretion. Now that was a hell of a lot better then "be more aggressive"!

To be fair, I accidentally sent the contact report in the middle of the South China Sea, with no contact around for hundreds of miles (including the uber-air-search-radar with which the AI can virtually detect enemy submarines!), and I got the 'good job, return to port, we will send another asset to assist' message, too.

First time I got it and I was surprised. Then another message popped up and said go after them. It was very cool

i reported a 'task force' which was some destroyers and a huge euro liner and they sent back something about a garrison for nearby sink at all costs...well. i suck at manual tdc and totally missed. hah then another one came by so i figured a troop transport is a troop transport and was going to sink that one...missed all 4 again. i am a failure

2. EXCELLENT UPDATE X DETECTED TASK FORCE PREVIOUSLY UNKNOWN X INTERCEPT AND ATTACK X

3. ULTRA X ENEMY TASK FORCE CRITICAL TO JAPANESE PLANS IN THE AREA X ATTACK AT ALL COSTS X

4. GOOD INTERCEPT X ENGAGE ENEMY TASK FORCE X

5. ENGAGE ENEMY TASK FORCE X PRIORITY TANKERS X

6. ULTRA X ENEMY TRANSPORT IN YOUR AO CARRIES REPLACEMENTS FOR NEARBY GARRISON X HIGH PRIORITY TARGET X ENGAGE AT ONCE

These are just some examples. Each is a result of certain probabilities and criteria.
It could be only if you do a contact report after a certain date, with certain types of ships, etc.
