GWX keeps locking up on me.. also one more question.

On my 4th patrol and it happened before on my first patrol, but now it has happened almost every time..

I get out of the canal from Kiel and about 100nm from the entrance, I start to increase TC, when I get to about 2000 it just gets stuck and the sound loops..

I wait about 10 minutes and nothing.

WTF!! This wouldn't be so bad other than the game takes 4 years to load..

Also.. when I do a crash dive I get no "ALAAARM" sound..

Just the normal ringing. But I have new other sounds, like the coughing and stuff..

If the game becomes stuck, press F12 once or twice to get yourself to the outer view. It happens now and then.

Yea but it doesn't allow me to do anything, its just locked

hmm, do you have an F-lock key? Sometimes I need to make sure its clicked on.

And as I mentioned, you may need to hit the F12 a few additional times b4 it switches to the other view.

Other than that, your system may not be able handle a TC that is too high. Try to keep your TC at 1024 and lower.

How powerful a rig do you have? Since GWX has a lot more objects/textures/everything etc. (hence the long loading times), some CPUs/amounts of memory/graphic cards, cannot handle extremely high time compression using it (that's a lot of extra data being processed), especially if anywhere near land, convoys etc. Even though the same computer could handle stock just fine at that same time compression, GWX might be too much for it. If you are trying to run at time compression over 2000x, that might be causing the game to lock up. Try sticking to lower tc, like 1024x and below, and see if the problem goes away.

I believe that's one of the reasons the devs originally capped tc at 1024x in stock, even though the game was obviously capable of being run at higher tc, so fewer people would run into this problem. GWX just lowers the threshold at which this occurs.

This is how I use the TC, use ctrl f8 to show up the fps, start cranking up the TC until your fps drop to 7/10 that's the highest value your rig can handle on the current scenario, more than that and your system can't handle all the stuff beeing calculated.

damn that sucks, it makes sense though..

My computer sadly is old these days, used to be top of the line. LOL

amd 2000
asus MB a7nx or something
1 gig of ram
a 9700 pro video card 128 meg.

I need an upgrade..
