Default Did anyone look at the stars?????

One of those little neat features I discovered is that the stars are no longer random. They actually added the constellations!

Yep. Orion's belt and the big and little dippers were definitely in SHIII.

Yeah, they're more or less accurate, but The Pleiades (The Seven Sisters) are little more than a smudge of 3 stars. No biggie, just an annoyance. The main thing that bugs me is that the sky almost never gets truly black, instead being a dark, but obvious blue colour. Anytime I've been at sea on a clear, non-Moonlit night, the stars have been a glittering array of jewels on a jet-black background, unless in the evening or approaching morning.

Have you been in the Pacific? Just curious because I really don't know if the blueness of the seas there would add a hue to the skies with the moonlight. Again, an honest question and not a challenge to your veracity.

I'm playing Sh3 GWX and the seas are a grey colour in the middle of the night in a storm???? I'm playing this on a brand new XI1525 Fujitsu Laptop in widescreen and everything is perfectly clear. However, I don't think the nights are dark enough when it's cloudy. It should be black as hell out there but the sky glows a blue/grey colour all the time. Is there a mod for darker nights that I can download or do I have to mess around with the gamma?

Saw the SHIV night sky for the first time last night, and wondered about the stars. If they are accurately modelled would it be possible to navigate by them? Another addition to the immersion factor. Probably too much for a PC Subsim but an interesting idea imo.

probly a million water sky mods around either that or a tad adjustment in your gamma will make it paint black if you so desire:hmm:
