I read the GWX manual v1.3 and theres just to much history stuff in it and not enough straight lingo telling us what the expansion actually adds and how to use the additions.
What I mean is any stuff thats useful is buried under 5 ton of history and war tech stuff. Maybe a separate operating manual or split the stuff up, sticking the history bumf at the back. I'm only asking, please don't shout at me. ![]() |

If you scan through it, its actually pretty easy to see what you're looking for. They did a great job of organizing everything. I thought as you did at first, but then I looked a little more closely.
First, there is an entire section of things that GWX adds to SHIII. That part is obvious and even listed in the TOC. Then, under every other section that contains history there is always an underlined title stating something like "How its implemented in GWX". Something along those lines. So really, just skim through the history until you see that title and you'll find exactly what you're looking for. |

Yes, spoze, but if you find the info you want its real vague and don't really explain it in depth, depth, get it, depth.
I don't really want to know how a pair of binos works or the radius of someones gun barrel I just want to know how the stuff in the game works. It was only someone telling me here on this forum that there is a flag pull down sheet on the attack scope screen, sides other stuff. |

Gotcha. Some of the info is rather vague as far as how it works in game.
There is a flag pull down sheet? Where? I did find that there is some sort of clock floating at the top of every screen...only there doesn't seem to be anyway to make it work. I clicked all over the thing and it never started taking time. Seems pointless to include that up there and then not have it do anything. |

The 'Flaggen' is in the top left corner of all optical views (obs, peri & uzo), it is draggable.
The stopwatch can only be started in the optical views (as above), the additional watch was added so that you could keep track of the running time of your torps while in other views.

Navmap: upper left corner: World map with high traffic places (to get an idea of good hunting spots), 2x Speed maps (to calculate the distance they travel at certain knots , very handy to use for intercepting convoy's) and a Mine field map (these shows where the mines are in friendly harbours) Attack periscope: Flagmap (upper left corner just click and drag it down) this will show you the enemy of germany inlcuding the years they are enemy's) the Chronometer: the clock u mention, this works if you fire a torpedo its starts ticking , so you can check when the torpedo is going to impact in a different Compartment of the submarine (example radio room)

I've alerted the manual's creator of this feedback. Thanks.

Well you know it might be in there
![]() To be fair though, there are SO MANY changes and additions that I just skimmed the list of features added, so it could be there. But then again, even reading that list doesn't make a lot of sense to a newbie like me without a little more info. A quick blurb on, for example, "Added flag map to periscope view", would not help me at all since I'd still have no idea how to use it or how to access it. Of course I have to say, the very fact that the mod comes with a 300 page manual is unbelievable and my hats off to the GWX team. Most mod creators can't be bothered with even basic info and they have an entire manual with fascinating in depth historical information. Very impressive. Its just the practical, how do I use it in the game, stuff is a little harder to access for this newbie. And there are apparently incredible gems I didn' even know about. |

In the Chapter called "New Game Behaviors" for GWX Manual V1.03 is a section called "Additional Charts, Handbooks, and Tools." This section is organized into the following three sub-sections (so to speak):
![]() I must say, though, that the manual is still playing catch-up with all the GWX content; for example, the entire "Additional Charts" section didn't appear until the most recent version. If you find something in GWX that isn't yet in the manual please let me know and I'll try to discuss it in the next version. Thanks! ![]() Pablo

Could you be more specific on what stuff in particular you would like to see more detail, and the kind of detail that interests you? "Everything" will probably take a few years ![]() Please bear in mind my primary expertise is in "what" and "how was it done during the war;" for "how" I may need to consult the folks who made the mods themselves. Thank you sir. I went back and took a look and you're right. I just didn't look at the manual as in depth the first time as I should have. Too excited to start playing I guess
