Default You guys who play GWX,what realistic settings are you at?

As some might know I have yet to play GWX and after messing with the horrible SH4, I decided to stick with SH3, but in the meantime I found out about GWX, I will install it this week when I get time from work.

But I always kept my realistic settings at like 58% or something close to that..
I keep the ext. view on, I have the computer do my firing measurments and I have the reload time to be not as long..

Everything else is on realistic ( I think I have the map contact thing off though, or on, which ever is the easier one )

but fuel, damage, air and all the other stuff is on realistic.

I am thinking maybe with this new GWX mod, I should max everything out, I want to feel more like I am in the actual sub than anything, but what do you guys have your settings on? Do you think I should max everything out except maybe the manual targeting? As I really have not much of an Idea on how to do it.

Whats your all opinions?

THANKS

Everything! except Manual Targeting. That's why I have a weapons officer.

The best item to turn off, if you want to simulate real life, is the external views. No event cam or external camera. You won't believe how different the game is with just these two turned off.

i think mines at 82%.

everything checked, except the external camera (eye candy, but yeah i sometimes use it to cheat > i look at the flags but hey, a monitor has a much smaller resolution than a retina, so its only fair), i have my WO ready and enabled, in case i need him (for instance i DONT find it interesting going throught the book to identify the contact.)

Yet, there is one thing that bugs me:
i have Manual targetting selected, and still, the torpedo solutions are updated all the time ?!? (in the according screen with all the nifty dials)

100% realism plus manual navigation, dont want some wizard calculating 100% accurate firing solutions in one second.

Everything except external camera. Think that comes in at 90% or something although I am thinking of turning off the Dud torpedo function again. External camera stays though.
Me like watch ship go BOOM

You know what.... You're right!! I always thought I should learn to shoot myself, though it would be cool, but there is a weapons officer..

I am going to start a career with those settings, EVERYTHING except the manual shooting..

BTW can you recommend me a year and place to start with GWX when I get it? I would like to start at a year that would be give me a low class sub and than within time move up to like a IV or something..

Learn to play with manual targeting, auto gives you no satisfaction on your kill its just point and shoot, whats the fun of that?

Start at the begining of the war in Kiel & choose the Type 2.

Kiel is an awesome place to start, probably the most active port & you have the Kiel Canal to try out.
