I had a fubuki class destroyer coming down on me off the coast of japan in dec 41 so i submerged and as he passed by i hit him with to torpedoes out of my stern tubes and he just speed up and left the area at high speed and i couldnt even keep up, is this normal i thought 2 torps would def put her on the bottom?

Realism my friend... your torps never "hit" him... they are impact detonator probably and were detonated by his wake at that speed..
It's hard to hit small (fast moving) targets.. he saw the almost near death explosions and flanked it, wouldn't you? |

I noticed that destroyers are vulnerable if you manage to hit them with a contact torp under the funnel....a big cloud of flames an zap....it's gone!
