the idea is not new: to sell all the stuff to pharmaceutical companies. Only problems are these: Afghanistan produces very much more of this stuff than there is need for it on the pharmaceutical market, and if the money from the sales no longer goes directly to local warlords, rebels and Taleban, but to the farmers, it will not take long until farmers will have to pay protection money. Which means that NATO will pay indirectly into Taleban pockets and consider this practice to be "legal".

According to what I have heard from those who work in the nhs, brittain is desperately in need of opiate based drugs to treat long term and terminal illness in patients. What better way of ensuring the opium doesn't get into illegal circles than by buying it for the medical industry?
The only stumbling block to this in the past has been obtuse politics and face saving tactics from the likes of blair and his mob. But I guess its' not all cut and dried as that.

Wouldn't it be great if by adding the stuff to vehicle and jet fuel, you could double or triple the distance per liter/gallon! :hmm:

Or am I getting confused with flying higher?
