Command Lag?

Usually everything is fine, I give a command, the crew carries it out...

But I have a save game when I am attacking a convoy. While moving through the screen and into the convoy everything is fine, but as soon as I fire off my torps, my commands are no longer carried out immediatley. Instead, nothing happens till all the torps havee hit or missed etc, then all the queued up commands are carried out later, after 5 minutes or so.

Of course in a convoy, where maneuvering is important, this is unacceptable and I wondered if anyone else had this problem.
