I guess it should be on my shelf as well but since it is not I'll be watching it from TCM.

I want all those commands in SH4.

" Both fish running hot, straight and normal! "

or

"Ten degree down bubble"

or

"Open outer doors on tubes one and two"

"Doors open Captain"

or even the occaisional "Aye, Aye, Skipper"

rather than the simple "Yes Sir" we have now.

I have faith the modders will make the sounds of submarine warfare commands for our boats in the near future. Nothing brings the immersion level in these sims like all the proper audio cues and sounds.

Real U.S. submarine commands , and repeated order confirmations like we heard in 'Run Silent, Run Deep' tonite should have been included in SH4 from the start. IMO

All the graphics are nice and neccessary but I would argue for more and better audio for that full immersive experience.

Good film, a classic

That's a report, not a command.

"Aye aye, sir" and "Yes, sir" mean different things. The first means "I understand and will comply." The second means "I heard you." Aye, aye is only used in the sea services; the army and air force use "Yes, sir/ma'am" for everything.

On the radio "Roger" means the same as "Yes, sir" and "Wilco" means "Will comply."

Similarly, there is a difference between an order and a command. A command implies by its nature a need for instant compliance. ("Left full rudder.") An order implies the reciever can solve the problem his own way in a reasonable time. ("Pull all the service records and find two men to go to the A-school.")

Oddly, helm commands are called "Orders to the helm" even though they're commands.

I obviously don't have the game yet.

Just watched it, and I notice that they can open multiple bow caps simultaneously in the film. I wonder how they did that? I haven't been able to.
