when i try to open my log i freeze up. i just received some news on may 28 1942 and was imagining it pertained to midway which i want to take part in? i was wondering if anyone else had the issue and a fix or where i can find news broadcasts in the game files?

well, after a 3 week patrol mine does that aswell but i let it sit for 2 or 3 mins and it goes again, what they need to do is remove reports that are a few days old.

make that the 30th... and. my guess would be its getting super loaded down with reports of convoys and the like. i had times before i patched where it would lag a little but only a second or two. is it an after patch thing because this patrol has actually been shorter than most of my others

Mine does that if I don't look at the message log for a while, and it fills up with convoy/task force reports. Takes a while to load it, and I mean like 2-3 minutes. I had one pause earlier that lasted a full 5 minutes, and I was about || this close to three-finger-saluting the game when it finally opened the log and allowed me to do what I wanted to do (was checking the captain's log for type on a kill I'd just made, double-checking my recognition book usage).
On a related note, my monitor's native resolution is 1600x1200 and the game started out at 1024x768. It was choppy, slow, and the problem -really- got bad when I turned volumetric fog or light shafts on. So, I upped the resolution to the monitor's native res, same res as my desktop, and bam! No more problems. *shakes head* Wierd.

alright so i let it go and it easily took 20 minutes and it was about midway so i closed it and then was like oh yea i want to check my kills and so i go to open it again and....freeze again. not cool at all. i suppose i have a mod request now huh? Last edited by ccruner13; 03-23-07 at 11:40 PM. |
