You mean in the periscope? Mine change color as well. I assumed it had something to do with how good of a solution or the hit percentage, etc.

Realistically, I’d hazard that there were quite a few Jap task forces early war. IIRC, there were a number of sightings throughout the war by US boats; they just never got into a firing position.

I ran into a similar task force at night in the sea that’s East of Manila (1941 AD), near the North choke point: at least 3 BB/BC, a number of CC/CA and a shipload of DD.

I hit one BB at <1000 m. with two MK14 set to impact; fired three but the third hulled an escorting destroyer that sped up after the first impact – I died by crush depth.

(Note to log: early US boats don’t go as deep as German ones.)

The previously mentioned TF was in the Celebes Sea, East of Borneo (got it confused with Manila).

Pertaining to this thread: in my new career, John Doe and his diligent crew (of USS S-27) ran into a large carrier TF heading North in the Sulu Sea on his way home to the Jawa people after Manila was captured: at least two carriers and their BB escort (possibly 3+), and the cruisers, destroyers and auxiliaries. I ran into the task force's CAP first, they never saw me as I dived to PD. Surfacing again, and positioning myself North of the first column: a cruiser leading two battleships. The column that contained the carriers was too far East (for want of stern tubes in a S-class!).

Anyway, I launched 4xMK10 impact fish at the first battleship as he was passing my optimum firing aspect; I witnessed two impacts, unknown if all four hit. Due to the massive seas, she quickly took on water with a massive list to port and capsized soon after. Kill board said it was a Fuso-class BB. Got away without a scratch!

There she is!

Impact!

Fuso going to the locker!

Default Cavite, Manilla Overrun??

I was on my 2nd mission out of cavite and dropped supplies off at Formosa..mission completed. I tried to return to Cavite but the "anchor" symbol was gone. Thnking that it Japanese (the base was empty and I could not dock_ I headed over Midway/ I got a refit there but couldn't end the mission. I checked for orders and found nothing...In time compression, I still spent 2 hours trying to find where to dock or end mission, ANyone have an idea? Thank you

That screenshot where the BB takes a beating looks so much like SH 1 it's not funny anymore.

Dane: I believe there was a problem with flotilla relocation (due to their base being captured) prior to the patch, but it should be solved with the 1.1...shouldn't it?
