I had a sub that had a bridge that was basically destroyed. I surfaced the boat and of course it automatically places crew up there...who quickly died...who were quickly replaced...who also died, rinse and repeat. Any attempt to repair the tower also resulted in dead crew, but I was eventually able to place two crew members on the repair crew. Placing any more than that would result in the additional crew dying.
On the same mission, I had my stern torpedo compartment hit and repaired. It showed no damage, but when I attempted to put an officer in there, it reported that the compartment was destroyed (???!). Other petty officers and sailors were in there and I could move them in and out of the compartment. Lastly, and I have this happen all the time when I'm under attack, I'll get messages in the message window that state [time] CE: with blank messages. I'll often get 3+ of these entries in a row. On to a question...Can an entire compartment be filled with water without losing the boat as a whole? I haven't had a compartment completely fill up on me in awhile, but I seem to remember that in stock SHIII the boat would be lost if this happened. |

Just a suggestion here matey but you might not want to spend too much time pondering over this problem. You might want to consider a clean reinstall due to the fact v1.03 is due very soon. just a polite suggestion
![]() Your flooding question: usually a fully flooded compartment results in the demise of your boat ![]() |

Yes it was.
Will 1.03 really require a clean install? :/ |

1.03 will be applied in exactly the same way as 1.02.

I'm trying to get GWX 1.02 patch installed. I already have the dec 23rd patch installed.
When I try and install it I get a message that there are programs that need to be uninstalled. The only thing I have is the patch. If I roll it back I get a message saying that there are some files missing from the SHIII folder that can't be found. This was a new install of SHIII with GWX. No other mod or patches other the the first update. IS there a work around??? or am I missing something. |

Delete any/all SH3 files from C\MyDocuments
Install a clean version of SH3 in C\Program Files\Ubisoft\SH3 Patch it to 1.4b Copy the folder and paste it to whatever drive you want. Rename the folder ‘GWX’. Now install GWX Now install GWX (v1.0 whatever) Create a shortcut to the desktop.. Install the SH3Cmd 2.7 plus the SH3Cfg file If your going to use multiple installs I’d suggest a separate install of SH3Cmdr for each plus an install of MultiSH3. GWX Patch 1.02 must be installed over a copy of Silent Hunter III containing GWX (with or without existing hotfixes). As this is a requirement for the patch to work, the installer will not allow installation to any other location. Before installing: - DISABLE all activated modifications if you use the "Jonesoft Generic Mod Enabler" (JSGME). You cannot use JSGME to install GWX Patch 1.02, but you can use JSGME to activate other modifications after GWX Patch 1.02 is installed. - REMOVE any installed SH3 Commander files (if you use "SH3 Commander") by pressing the "Rollback SH3" button from within SH3 Commander. - ENSURE your active careers are all safely docked in port! It is important that you follow these steps as the installer will look for SH3 Commander and JSGME files and will halt if any are found. Likewise the installer will halt if it does not find certain key GWX files. After installing: GWX Patch 1.02 includes all individual GWX fixes released to date. You do not need to re-install any previous GWX patch or hotfix after patch 1.02. Indeed, this patch will delete from JSGME any previous patches or hotfixes that it finds. |
