Default Vista/GWX save problems?

Hey guys,

I recently purchased a Vista based machine, and Im having some difficulty with saved games in SHIII. Im wondering if anyone has had similiar issues regarding it.

...This is a fresh 1.4 patch with the GWX, nothing no other modifications are installed.

First off,
This is the 3rd time its happened... so Im not crazy (well not THAT crazy )

The other day I docked in port to complete my patrol and exited the game, When I came back... There was no record of me being in port (after patrol/before mission) There was only a save file saving "The war is over!" Dated 11/1940.

I backed up to my last save, redocked, and went ahead out on my next patrol. Midway through, I decided to call it quits for the evening, at this point I had saved the game multiple times... (at least 4 saves)

Today, Im back in trying to load my game and all my saves are missing again,
-I have multiple saves in my log from my previous mission...
-I have one file dated yesterday that says "In base before mission" with no reknown credit for my previous mission (the save time corresponds to yesterday)
-and the "WAR IS OVER" save file which is also dated (yesterday)

When I look in my save folder is see lots of files with save names that I used yesterday, and also have yesterdays date... Most notably there is a file called bla.sav that is the same name I saved my last position.

Is there anything I can do to reveal the contents/load this file?

Any help appreciated
