how to update SH3 commander halfway through a saved career???

Please help i want to update my SH3 commander but am part way through acareer how do you do this please without losing my saved game.

Just return to base first, then rollback Commander after exiting SH3. Careers are saved in "My Documents" and will not be removed when you uninstall/install or Update.
