In RL there was a report on pprune that DFW atc didn't handle a low fuel emergency very well.I think you will also find that EK (emirates)are starting a dubai houston route.

In order for this to be true, if the first plane was cleared to land on Runway 9R, wouldn't the second be cleared to Runway 27L? Hmm. Just wondering.

I can'T laugh. However, some days ago there was a TV report about a major HUB, I do not remember which one it was, a British or American one, and the chief of ATC told this true story about an airliner from the Emirates, or another golf state, and ATC gave them permission to take off and received "Ready to take off, thank you." ATC then asked if they would mind to accept a reduced runway length due to heavy traffic, and they answered "Ready for takeoff, thank you." If they would mind to accept 3500? "Ready for takeoff, thank you." Or better 4500? "Ready for takeoff, thank you." If the pilot had understood the request or has trouble with the comms or language? "Ready for takeoff, thank you." The plane finally was given the full runway length to be sure. The chief did not say what the answer was, but I think we know by now. - True story. Glad I was not on that plane. If I were head of that airliner's company, I would fire the two pilots immediately, assuming that the comms technically were okay.
