I have been making some tests in order to eliminate the rocket smoke trail on turbojet-propelled missiles (Harpoons, TLAM's ,etc..) yet despite checking the smokeless flag in the Object Database the missile still leaves a smoke trail. Is it possible to do this or the smoke trail feature is simply hardcoded and there is no way to change it?
Thanks in advance. |

Sorry I missed this.
No there is no way to turn it off... A lot of those flags are hold overs from Fleet Command and Sub Command, so they basically do nothing. There are vestigial entries all over the database, which really makes it confusing sorting out what still works and what doesn't work. ![]() Cheers, David

Well... this is pretty disappointing to say the least.
![]() I have been thinkin about this for some time and perhaps there is a way to fix this by modifying the gfx files (the ones that contain the gun flashes and that stuff). I did some small tests modifying the size of and sequence of the gun flashes as well as increasing the density of the smoke and it looks promising... Does anybody have any experience with these files? |
