Our friends over at the fantastic German "Marinesims.de" site have produced a page detailing the subs of SH4 including some hot never seen before screenies....

Cool! We've already been discussing this on the 'SH4 Screenshots' thread, but these are new and different too.

A link to these was posted in the screenshot thread stickied above a few minutes ago too. We get nothing for a few days, then this. Just sailing around unmolested on a patrol will be fun, with graphics like this. Kudos to the art team and 3D artists over at Ubi's SH4 dev studio. Wondeful stuff this.

If I may say so, I'm really digging those conning tower shots.

Yep me too... with all of the clutter of the periscope shears etc on US subs, I hope we can actually walk around the tower area to get a good view of the surroundings or at least jump into the lookout position.

Seems as if an Officer is manning the 20mm AA gun on one of the Gato class pics, or is it a NCO?

Ganz gut! Wunderwetter! Schönenbar!

[Drifts off into happiness-induced delirium of pseudo-German babbling]

Seriously, though, it's looking amazing. I love the blue light.

We from Aces of the Deep (www.acesofthedeep.com) and MarineSims (www.marinesims.de) had an invention to an Silent Hutner 4 press event in Hamburg. We will release a short report (first in german) and new screenshots soon!

Her is a new screenshot as an appetizer.

I'm a little worried that all of the surfaced shots we've seen so far have the dive planes folded out.

EDIT: Screenshot above... speechless!

When was this press event dammit!? I could have come over and crashed the party.

Amazing Statue of Liberty model. What class of submarine is that below her, by the way?

Oh, and for those posting screenshots: Let's be very careful to post where we get them from, shall we, as CaptainNemo just did.

Default Looks like a Gato heading north up the Hudson

Looks like a Gato heading north up the Hudson, probably for the Jersey docks. The Battery is right off her starboard, and you can see the tops of Ellis Island just beyond Liberty.

Wow!

Amazing, no other words for this. Just what I wanted to see

1) Blue light in S-class interior?

2) I'm seeing a lot of new sprite effects (water running off?) that don't quite look done but could, potentially, come out rather neat :hmm:

3) Interesting - we have lookouts on different spots of the tower + gunners at the same time...

4) I REALLY love this shot:

And is that water coloring reflective of the depth? :hmm:

5) neat angled lighting, if that's indeed what I'm seeing:
