Hi everyone! Heh, this is my first post here, although I have been frequenting the forums for the last few days since I got SH3 last week. Please be considerate to a bilge rat like me
![]() I've been browsing through the forums for solutions to some "problems" I had, and couldn't find any. Can anyone please help? 1. Fix for the Type XXI FuMO391 radar "Radar antenna destroyed" message. When I use an older radar, the game crashes. 2. *Optional* Hehe, is there a mod that adds a deck gun to the XXI? I kinda miss bullying coastal merchants with AP shells - maybe edit NSS_Uboat21.eqp - but with the extra firepower and speed that XXI provides. 3. Game crashes when I press the "Surface Cruise Mode" button. 4. Ways of speeding up the game. I have recommended PC specs, except for memory (512 mb), but it still has crappy framerate during TC 1024 and near harbors. 5. Fixing the snorkel detection problem (instant air strike when you press X, hehe) 6. A proper way of unlocking ALL upgrades, etc. in 1939 (The farthest Ive got is a search-and-replace for year and month in Basic.cfg and the default starting boat in Flotilla.cfg, and it still sometimes crashes). And no, no 500mb+ dls for me, thank you. Also, I'm all for realism, but sometimes you just want to nuke a convoy as anger management ![]() Thanks in advance! |

First of all Welcome to SubSim
Are you playing stock SH3 or any of the supermods? 1. I don't think you can find a mod that adds a deck gun to XXI. 3. Again are you using stock SH3 or GW/NYGM/GWX? 4. Because of your low RAM in areas with heavy traffic you will have lagging problems. There is no way around that, unless you have more RAM or you're using the Little Harbour Mod in GWX. 6. You need to edit the Cfg files to do this.

Edit: Never mind the radar crash problem, it seems I got too many contacts and my poor ol' PC can't take it, so I turned on realistic sensors. Problem solved. Also, the surface cruise mode button crashes when clicked just after my boat surfaces. I don't use it anymore nowadays, it's much more fun micromanaging your crew ![]() I installed some small mods: FUMO391-BugFix XXI_Flak_and_Battery_Fix_v2 I still need the snorkel mod, though.

The crash from "preset" crew buttons is a known SH3 stock bug. I think most of us are careful never to use these...
I run both NYGM and GWX (after using RuB for a long time) with 512mb ram on a laptop with 1.8 Ghz Centrino and 128 Mo video ATI and although I get down to around 20 fps in heavy harbour traffic, it runs with no problem. There is no reason why these mods would crash your PC if you have a clean install patched to 1.4b. You should give it a try one of these days, because with these mods it is an all different game...
