problems with nygm mod

hello guys and captains,i been trying to play sh3 with the nygm mod,i have 3 different games install
1. sh3 stock
2.sh3 with gwx
3.sh3 with nygm
the game works fine in stock and with gwx,when i try to play nygm the game loads up and when its almost ready to start ,when it put you in the command room i get a black screen and a windows error message.i dont know if i install the mod right,becouse theres some folders there that i dont know where to put it at,also there a folder for update to sh3 commander updates,where i dont know where to put those cfg files.can any explain how to install this mod,i also got sh3 commander .thanks for the help

Do you use MultiSH3 to run the different installations? Do you have different SH3Cmd folders for the different installations? Are you sure you're using the /l switch to point them to the correct installation? I think NYGM needs some extra Cfg files. You need to get them and put them into C\Program Files\SH3Cmd\Cfg

OK no worries we'll sort you out

The way to do multiple installation is simple

1. Install a clean version of SH3 in the C\Program Files\Ubisoft\SH3
2. Patch it to 1.4b
3. Copy the whole folder and paste it whenever you want the new installation to be. After that rename it to whatever you like. Let's say GWX.
4. Now put the multiSH3 into the GWX folder and run it. When asked put GWX as the default directory where your careers will be saved.
5. After all this install GWX in the GWX folder, make a shortcut to the desctop and you're ready to play.
6. Now you can install the SH3Cmd 2.7
7. After the installation is complete you right-click onto the desktop icon. You click on properties and where it say target you type "C:\Program Files\SH3 Commander\SH3Cmdr.exe" /l:"C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\GWX. Now this is the example of my SH3Cmd that will check the files in the My Documents\GWX folder that is generated by the C\Program Files\Ubisoft\GWX installation. After that this particular installation of SH3Cmd is linked to that installation of SH (GWX in this case).

I would suggest you do a different installation of SH3Cmd for each different installation of SH you have. That way you don't get the SH3Cmd confused and you don't mess up things.

Also I would suggest to leave the clean patched version of SH3 in the C\Program Files\Ubisoft\SH3 untouched as that way you can always copy it and paste it to add new mods. If you want to make new installations always copy and paste this folder and DO NOT USE the Installer of SH3 again (at least not for as long as the game is already installed)

The switch is used to 'point' SH3Cmdr to a different install location. However, GWX & NYGM have separate & different files which need to be added to SH3Cmdr's program folder.

My suggestion is to have 2 installs of SH3Cmdr and rename them to SH3GWX & SH3NYGM. You may be best using a re-installation of SH3Cmdr to ensure no crossover of files. Once you have 2 standard installs of SH3Cmdr then add the mod specific cfg files to each relative program folder, then create shortcuts on your decktop for both versions of SH3Cmdr.

Don't forget to rollback SH3Cmdr.

GWX Cmdr files can be found by clicking on my sig.
NYGM files can be found after extracting the d/l of (IIRC) v2.2 (note NYGM is now at v2.4 you can find this in the MODS section of Subsim)

Totally agree there

This is by far the easiest route to take

As long as your shortcuts are named correctly you should have no problems

Hell!!!.....sometimes I'm as thick as a Dockers sandwich and I'm managing 5 separate installs

I DID EVERYTHING YOU SAID EXCEPT WHEN I TRY TO PUT A PATH ON THE SH3 COMMANDER ,I GET A PATH ERROR SAYING IS NOT A VALID TARGET OR PATH
THIS IS WHAT I PUT IN THE TARGET
"C:\Program Files\SILENT GAMES\GWX\SH3 Commander\SH3Cmdr.exe"/l:"C:\Program Files\SILENT GAMES\GWX

I PUT THE SILENT HUNTER WHICH IS NOW GWX IN PROGRAM FILE THEN I MADE A FOLDER CALLED SILENT GAME AND THEN I PUT THE GWX FOLDER INSIDE THAT FOLDER,I ALSO PUT THE SH3 COMMANDER INSTALLATION FOLDER IN THERE,WHEN I TRY TO CLICK ON SH3 COMMADER PROPERTIES AND TRY TO CHANGE IT IS NOT WORKING.ANY SUGESTIONS?

These are my settings for the switch in Cmdr.....

Target
"C:\Program Files\SH3 Commander - GW\SH3Cmdr.exe" /l:"C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Silent HunterIII - GW"

Start in
"C:\Program Files\SH3 Commander - GW"

Bear with me, I just need to see these two posts together, I will edit soon......

EDIT - You need a space between .....SH3Cmdr.exe" & /l:"C:\Program Files.

Also your start in location will need to be changed to point at the location of the Cmdr Folder which you added to the GWX folder.
