Default LWAMI 3.05 - I think Ive found a bug

Something seriously wrong with the patrol craft. In African Bees Nest the patrol boats just circle in one spot. In the North Korea mission in the campaign, at mission start they are moving normally, about 30 knots. About 30 seconds into the mission they accelerate to 300 knots, take off like an airplane and fly around at 200 ft.!
Im using JGSME version, I disabled the mod, and played the missions again. All was normal. Renabled the mod, Flying boats again.

Well, I haven't done anything to the patrol craft.

It's more like SCS fixed something and didn't bother to mention it. I'll look at the database now, thanks for mentioning it.

Cheers,
David

The only difference between the two versions is that LWAMI has given the craft thrust parameters that allow for a Sound vs. Speed curve for the vessel.

It is possible that this is interfering with them in unexpected ways in DW 1.04, because SCS keeps tweaking the way the thrusts interact with the physics engine, as a necessary part of the physics corrections in DW 1.04.

Rather than take away the thrust, I'm going to tweak the turning radius of the boats, which is the real problem.

This should be fixed for LWAMI 3.06.

Thanks.

Cheers,
David

Get DW edit from Subguru and put it into the Database Folder of your main DW directory.

Double click on the DWedit icon. When the tool bar pops up, click on the submarine. On the top of the object list column on the left, do a Filter for "inf", then double click on infiltration craft. Look on the bottom right where it lists the Thrusts and where is says "Gen Ship 35kts". Double click on that white area. Highlight the thrust by clicking on it when the dialogue pops up. Go to the top of the thrust list on the right and select empty, which should replace the thrust with an empty line. Click apply and then exit.

Then click apply and exit on the main object screen.

Click save on tool bar or the little windows disk icon.

Done.

Cheers,
David

PS If you have problems with this I can do the fix on a DW 3.05 database and post it here.

PPS For everyone following along, yes deleting the thrust is the only way to fix the inf. craft apparently, I dunno why, which means no sound vs. speed for those craft, but then again, they are probably loud as heck idling anyway... it'd be better to find another way but apparently not.

That's nothing compared to the flying subs in Sub Command

Besides, what's the problem? Just turn on CIWS or give them an SM-2

These boats have been like that since at least 1.03.
And the SM-2 hits the surface beneath them; they still explode though.
Oh, and... let it run long enough and it'll be above the skies.

I suspect that the 'flying' may be graphics getting out of sync with the core.
