What values for stronger torpedoes?

Hi there,

I'm a little annoyed about the small GMX ships that need two or more torpedoes to sink so I decided to tune up the eels a little until the problem gets solved. I also had a look at the torpedo files, but I'm not exactly sure which value does what exactly. Could someone please elaborate?

Thanks a lot

what I have found is that with the smaller ships you can take em with just one as often as not if you use a flank instead of a keel shot.

try it out, MM

also I found that sh3 inspector or mini tweak or file analyzer all work well for those adjustments check out tools thread.

I've taken out ships in GWX with one torp. It doesn't happen all the time but it does happen.

I can very often take out a Large Tanker with one shot. It might not blow up right away, but the flooding will take it down. It's actually harder to sink ships with auto-aiming because it always aims for the middle of the ship, where usually no explosives reside. Aim for fuel bunkers/ammo bunkers to get results!

Yes but he and a few other Kaleuns are saying that it isnt right to have one shot large tanker and a 2,3, or 4 torp small tonnage steamer.
what I am saying is in most cases I have found with small ships
that switching to impact detonation two yds above the keel can
do it in one quite often with these seemingly difficult targets.

with the little guys switch from magnetic to impact
depth keel - 2 yds.
and presto Nothin up my sleeve , no coding, and I get a one hitter
on these problematic ships.

You don't need to up the torpedo damage. All you need to do is aim the torpedo to hit under the forward mast of small merchants and tramp steamers.

The bow floods down, and drags the rest of the ship down with it. Garunteed a 1 shot kill 95% of the time.

Small ships are not worth a torpedo... Gun them down or let them go

Check in the tools thread.
There are alot of very good tweaking tools out there that allows you
to change values without knowing much more then how to click a button.
Mini tweaker is a must have!

Man asks - it is necessary to answer.
File: torpedo.sim.
For each torpedo in amun_Torpedo controller there is a parameter impulse (= 2000...2500).
Increase it.
@Anvart
Thanks Anvart
That's what I was looking for
I already looked it up in MiniTweaker but wasn't sure if it's the correct value.

@Ducimus
Thanks for that tip. I'll try that too

Sinking those beautiful sailing ships. You should be ashamed of yourself. Ever seen the movie "The final countdown?" Then you should know what happens to bad guys that blow appart small yachts *g*

@Corsair
I know they're not worth it, but I want the torps to have a little more explosive punch anyway

@MushMartin
Tried that but with very mixed results. Will test it further. Thanks!!

@Corrupt File
Good advice. Where do I find the charts that show me the compartments, and more importantly: does that still apply to GWX?
