Goin 1x in the pacific is goin to be way more longer that means more time on one ptrol than in SH3.

I'm currently running a 1x patrol in SH3. My 7B is SE of Rockall Bank. But, yeah, you bring up a darn good point and one I've been pondering.

Will I run a totally 1x patrol in SH4? Gotta admit it's unlikely. I'm thinking I will use TC to get to my patrol area and then drop to 1x. Hey, I'm a big believer in 1x...but across the friggin' Pacific? :rotfl: Doubtful....!

1x???!!!!
Are you guys serious? Do you really play missions in SH3 GWX at 1x?? How do you do it? I can understand patrolling your grid and mounting the attack, but crossing the Atlantic or even getting to Scapa Flow at anything less than 128 is just masochistic!!

I personally have never crossed the Atlantic at 1x but I've played several career patrols around England at 1x and am doing so currently....

Lots of people do it, but yeah, you gotta be kinda whacked in the head, I'll agree to that, hahaha!

You guys are too intense! I feel like I'm sitting at the computers for hours on 1024 just waiting for the weather to change so I can attack. Sitting at the computer for four real-time weeks, looking only at walls of waves and rain...I would say, gentlemen, it's time defect to Ireland or Spain. Put away the vaseline, the war is over for us!

Lol, you don't have to stay sitting and staring at the computer for weeks on end. I run reversa patrols. My days are their nights and vice versa. (Midnight for them is noon for me.) This works out well early in the war because you're fairly safe on the surface at night and during the day (my nights) my men can sleep and so can I. Not a big deal. Plus, it allows me to keep my time and theirs in synch, though still 12 hours out of phase, of course. Plus, the game can run in the background, allowing me time to work.

It's all good!

I impose on myself a strict 'no higher then x128' rule.
The rest of you that do it x1, need to go visit the loony bin.

I do a 32x max but mostly play at 1x. I never knew the Mediterranean Sea was so BIG! I decided to try a Med career. Sailed out from La Rochelle (Ducimus's Flavored Mod) and into Gibralter. That took a few days at low TC. Then went through Gibraltor Straits, that took a while at 1kt at 1x....but I figured home wasn't far past that...Then I plotted my course to Salamis...and realized...I'm not even 1/3rd of the way there yet!
And here I thought I'd start a Med career so I could do 'fast' low TC patrols! Man this game rocks....

Actually the SH3 world is quite a bit smaller than the real one, or so I'm told.
