Crashes frequently

Aloha,
I have enjoyed the game but for some reason it crashes frequently on my machine. UBI Soft tech help was little value
Here is the message of my most recent CTD

AppName: sh3.exe AppVer: 1.4.0.1 ModName: simdata.dll
ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 0000e635

I have better luck on my laptop which suppossedly does not meet the all the requirements than I do my home computer which does - and yes all drivers have been updated and I have considerable experience in computer gaming. Sometimes the game casues my computer to reboot though I am uncertain why.
HELP
