Default Is it too soon to speculate?

Bin Laden sure has been missing for a long time ...
Seven (7) months is a long time to me ...

Is it too soon too speculate?

Missing and presumed dead is one theory
Missing and will surface on top of the
Empire State Building with a dirty bomb
in his hands ... is another theory.

Quoted from an unnamed news source (emailed to me)
Quote:
The last time the world heard from Osama bin Laden, there was reason to believe his end was near. In a videotape released in December, bin Laden looked sallow; his speech was slow, and his left arm immobile. (The Arab newspaper al-Quds al-Arabi reported last month that bin Laden was nursing a shrapnel wound when he made the tape.)
Quote:
The U.S intercepted chatter in the Tora Bora mountains between bin Laden and his forces that seemed to give up his location. Pakistani forces bottled up the border while American warplanes pounded the caves of eastern Afghanistan and special-ops troops positioned themselves for the big grab. "He doesn't have a lot of good options," said Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz.
But he still had a few.
Quote:
Six months after hailing bin Laden's imminent capture or death, Pentagon officials now admit that the al-Qaeda leader "has gone missing" since the siege of Tora Bora. Missing, of course, could mean dead, and a small minority of officials in the Pentagon, CIA and FBI believe that bin Laden's public silence since the December tape suggests he has succumbed — if not to U.S. air strikes, then possibly to kidney failure. But the fact is, Washington just doesn't know. "The proof that he's alive is, we don't hear anything from Osama bin Laden," says Larry Johnson, a former State Department counterterrorism official. "The proof that he's dead is, we don't hear anything from Osama bin Laden

hmm...idunno... I find it hard to believe that a man that needs dialysis, could get away for to long ... I'm begining to believe the hunt hasn't gone on as we have been led to believe.

I thought bin Laden had been missing for seven months,
but that report was just from no video or audio tapes ...

He hasn't been seen in over five (5) years now.

Who is Osama bin Laden
CBC News Online Jan 19th, 2006

Tora Bora falls, December 2001
No bin Laden

How bin Laden got way

I predict we'll never know for sure what happened to him but 100 years from now some wild eyed megalomaniac will attempt to raise an army by claiming he's Osama reincarnated.

I find the whole dialysis thing pretty hard to believe myself. With regards to the status of Osama bin Laden I really don't know. I think it makes little difference if he is dead or alive.

Could it be possible that OBL is of more benefit to us alive and too scared to surface then a dead OBL whereby replacing him with someone in the open could galvinize the organization into action?
I think he's dead though through natural causes because of the complete silence. If he was alive he'd be voicing support for Iraq. If he was killed in some action he would be a martyr.

Even if that mad dog is dead there are plenty of other mad dogs to take his place.
