Greetings!
I installed my first mod and I can't say I'm thrilled about it. I was very much interested in this mod especially for the ability to disable the Crew Fatigue. I just don't have the time or desire to be fiddlin with crew management so I selected the OFF option. Great. Checked off a few boxes and away we go. I do not and will not play full realism because there are some views that I like....particularly the God's eye view from above on the navigation map. Here we go... I launch my patrol boat using heavy TC. I got an IX and I'm cruising down to the Islands for some soft targets early 1942. It appears my Nav map didn't update correctly because I'm zipping by all of those ships. I changed my TC to 2048 which is indeed taxing my rig. So perhaps that's the culprit. I'm still looking for a good mix of game enjoyment, time management, etc. The other day I spent like 2 hours of real time with no significant engagements and that's unacceptable. I may have to try another campaigh with less traveling distance and more action. When and where is all the action? |

At high TC you will zipp past alot. I suggest you set TC at 256 that way contact reports, aircraft and other things are displayed and you don't miss them, you can go at 512 but if you run into a destoryer you will have little time to react before you start getting damage.
As for where the action is, well..... that depends on the year and where you are heading. May I suggest the Newbie thread that is a sticky at the top of this forum has the info you seek along with other info as well to help you sink the tommies. Hope that helps. |

I would suggest to use one of the supermods (NYGM or GWX) if you want to see a lot of action. If GWX is what you're looking for you can get it from the link in my signature. You will find action in areas with heavy traffic. That is around Ireland and England, Freetown in Africa, the Carribean, the US eastern coast and the gulf of Mexico. If you can afford playing in lower TC you will see more stuff but generally speaking most shipping can be found in the above mentioned areas and in the convoy routes.

OK Thank You!
I was hoping turning down TC would make a difference and it appears it does. At high TC you zip past ships with no contact report whatsoever. The TC just slows down to indicate a potential target but its always too late. Cheers |
