X800 XT, not sure what this is

Installed my nice little X800 XT, everything works fine, but there is this yellow connector I can't find a purpose for in either the manual or tech details on-line. It doesn't seem to affect anything at all, but two 'other devices' yellow exclamations have appeared in the device manager. Tried the update drivers, but it says no software found (with the ati driver disk inserted). I looks to me as if it might be a legacy connector of some kind, perhaps to the dvd drive. As I said it doesn't seem to affect anything and everything works fine, I just wonder what it is/does.

"The yellow connector of unknown purpose is present only in reference boards handed over to test labs and those manufactured at own small production facilities of ATI for internal testing needs. It won't be there on cards which are to be shipped to the retail."

hope that helps im pretty sure it was used by the company to do scans and tests while they were beta testing it.

edit* reference boards are good to overclock and are usually made with a little bit more higher quality material so the reviewers can overclock it better thus giveing a better rating thus more sales for company. so overlock it if u want.

they stopped making x800xts a long time ago im guessing u got it new and probably got the first batch that was used as reference board and probably has been stored since it was released and now thye probably reached out of stock point with the x800xts at their main warehouses. what i wud give to get in those warehouses. hundreds of thousands of video cards that are supposed to be released next year. god imagine getting intel 6 core cpus that run at 10ghz 3 yrs before they come out. imagine ddr4 motherboard ram, video cards and motherboards that use light to tranfer data instead of electricity. :hmm::hmm:

Except I'm guessing that if they haven't even announced they're working on even a feasible prototype for most of those technologies they probably don't have warehouses full of them.

And core-wise, the next logical step after 4-core is 8-core, building in powers of 2 like most computer things.
