What program to print tables in a circle - Dial?
Hi, does anyone know of a program that will print letters/numbers around a dial, like a protractor or Etchasketch's Bearing/AOB tool (whizz wheel)?
I would like to create my own crossreference table, printing straight down the edge of a piece of paper doesn't work for what I want, there must be some cad type program that would do this, would appreciate any help here. ![]() Thanks in advance, Reece.

yes matey there is i have a CAD drafting package and use it occasionally , i am into metal turning as well , a good mechanical fitter will tell you if you cant obtain a measurement easily from an item make a drawin ghence thats why i have one , to set it up would go something like this DRAW CIRCLE AND DECIDE ON SIZE remember everything in cad is draw ful size the computer "shrinks ' to print , thats why when you dimension a drawing you don't have to do the math for scales ect, NEXT DIVIDE CIRCLE INTO NUMBER OD DIVISIONS EG: 4 IF YOU ONLY WANT THE N,S,E,W. PIONTS then go to a command that will be something like ARRAY COPY , USE THIS TO COPY THE NUMBERS IN A CIRCLE AND COPY THEN DEPENDING ON TYPE OF PROGRAM YOU MAY HAVE TO EDITIT EACH ONE however when finished save and there you go print it later, i am a partime soldier and if possible if know some one ask them if they get an old mortar ploting board and photo copy it , but they don't use them now , or ask a meuseam , i am after a whizz wheel of good quality so i can use it in the calculations in the game i don't know if the navy use them now or where i would find one , sgtfoxhound@optusnet.com.au

Here's a small free program for doing graphs including Polar Graphs.

Thanks Sgtfoxhound, I will look into finding a relatively cheap & simple to use CAD program, can you reccomend any?
![]() Priater, I would have assumed that a graph would be drawn from the data provided, could you give a little more detail on this program or do you not actually use it? Will check out the link and see if I can find anything out. ![]() Mav87th, I have photoshop but it can't draw circles, lines or print on angles, unless a newer version allows this, photoshop is basically that, a program to manipulate/edit pictures in layers, correct me if I'm wrong. ![]() This is likely to be a once only job so I don't want to purchase an expensive program that will take weeks to learn! I'd be better off just to draft one up on paper & scan in, just that it will look crappy! ![]()

Not sure Reece.
I've had it around for years but never used it myself. It's on my file front page and has the info contained in a readme I believe. It's around 3 or 4 hundred k. EDIT: OK, I checked it out. It ONLY prints graph paper. IF you have a scanner you COULD print out a graph to your specs, scan it into Paint Shop or such, add your numbers using rotate functions. Lotta work though. I'll look around some more for you. |

Oh Poo!
Unfortunately it only produces Graph paper to print out, you can't actually enter any text.
