In stock SH3, merchants & warship hydrophone contacts were represented by black & red lines respectively. That is, if my memory is correct.
![]() In GWX of course all lines are black. How can I enable the red lines for warship contacts for the F5 & F6 views? Thanks. |

The file responsible for sound contacts (among other things) is ContLine.tga which IIRC should be in the data/menu/gui folder, if you replace it with the stock file you'll get colored hydrophone contacts back.
The little problem with this is, that it will also make those little tails on ship symbols also colored (i.e. red, green, blue). If you don't want that, you'll have to edit the file with Photoshop or a simmilar programm. What you need to do, is to erase parts of the line at both ends, you'll probably have to experiment somewhat to see how much you have to erase exactly. Alternativly you can use the ContLine.tga from the IUB mod where this has been done already. This will also give you a dashed line instead of the solid one you have in GWX and stock SHIII. |

There are 3 tga files in your zipped folder. What do the other 2 do? What I want is to be able to differentiate between merchants and warships whilst submerged. If possible I would like to have all other icons grey, so that I need to ID the nationality of a contact. Is this possible? Thanks. |

Using just contline and dashline, as Henri II has already pointed out above, will give you the colored contact lines, but also color the tails of your other contact symbols. This question has been asked several times before in this forum and his post provides the only possible solution that I've ever seen. |
