Default Sound File Editors - Please Read

Hi, I am still having trouble editing sound files, both, speech in ogg format, and wav format for effects. I am carefull as to the format of the file, stereo/mono quality (16 bit, 44100, 239kbps, etc), however when the file comes to being used in the game, most often or not, CTD!!!
The files look ok & play externally ok, this is frustrating!
Could someone who successfully edits sound files please explain the programs used and the sequence please.
Kind Regards.

Hi Reece,

This is an area that I have tinkered around and made a few mods myself. You can find my sound mods on the link below. Ok now that I've had my sales pitch, this is what I use as my program "Jetaudio", it's a freeware product with no strings attached. It converts sound files including OOG's. This is the link;
http://www.cowonamerica.com/download/

Ok now these are some sites that I use to merge sounds into the speech files etc, these are the links;

Ok the steps that I use is simple, if you want to incorperate additional sounds into a speech file (OOG) then you convert it back to a MP3 using Jetaudio. Mix and add the sounds you want (this part can very time consuming) and once you've done that then convert the MP3 file back to OOG and return it back to its orginal folder.

Reece can I ask one favour though....PLEASE DON'T TELL ANYONE MY SOUND MODDING SITES & FREEWARE SOFTWARE SECRETS !

Psssst. Excuses me guys, but I couldn't help overhearing your conversation. I didn't hear all that much though, just some talk about good sound software and a couple of excellent links. I'll keep my mouth shut though, your secret is safe with me.

Ok then, whats so special on the diesel_exterior.wav file? I replaced it, but SH3 puts a small silence at the beginning or end of the loop.
There is no silence in the wav, but it is when in game.

It needs to have the following properties...at least, a custom-version I have (lower volume) has these:

- 705kbps
- 16bit
- 1 channel (mono)
- 44kHz
- PCM

Size of the file I have: 383KB.

I uploaded it for you, so that you can compare....link
