Can't agree more.

£2.3 bn, that's more than half a CVF. And they wrangle about the extra £200,000 the builders say it will cost.

Also when are squaddies going to get a pay rise and the rest. Hmmmm....

Have you guys started getting 600 dollar (or Pound equivilent) hammers put in the budget yet? That's when you really have to start worrying.

Wouldn't some of that money be better spent to not have to mothball all those ships that were being talked about here a little while back? I'd think so.

As for military pay, it pretty much sucks everywhere. I'd love to see Congress commit to not voting themselves a pay raise until after they've voted in a comparable one (by percentage of increase) for all the troops. But that's about as likely to happen as the USN converting to Metric next week...

Do bear in mind that we don't all work like that, some of us are in rundown 1940s buildings which are desperately in need of new carpets or a coat of paint
